Department at a Glance

The Central Library is an important educational center of the College and working as Central Library for departmental Libraries of colleges. Fifteen departmental libraries in college for post graduate student in  different subject.


The Central Library established in 1958 with establishment of college and with small number of books book. The Library of college has been well equipped with the latest information technologies and web based information, E-books and E-Journals search, OPAC, internet browsing as it is well connected through LAN/ BSNL leased line. This library has connected on LAN with all semi automated facilities to its users. The library is linked with NLIST consortiums for online books and journals. The Library maintains around more than one lake collections of books, reference book, theses, monograph, back volumes, journals, audio-visuals and e-resources. Brail Books and Internet facilities for physically challenged persons available in Library through U G C Scheme of Equal Opportunity Centre for Colleges. This was possible by the help of University Grant Commission and CPE scheme. Higher Education Department of Chhattisgarh Government supported for it’s infra structure development and provided other facilities.

The library provides  NLIST  Consortium of e-Resources  in different subjects of college for teaching, reading, self study and research. Users click www.nlist.inflibnet.ac.in and login.

NMEICT:

The National Mission on Education through ICT is a project of MHRD which provides a momentous opportunity for all the teachers and experts in the country to pool their collective wisdom for the benefit of every Indian learner and, thereby, reducing the digital divides. Under this Mission, a proper balance between content generations, research in critical areas relating to imparting of education and connectivity for integrating our knowledge with the advancements in other countries is to be attempted. 10 NMEICT Internet Broad Band connections available in our college for use the e- contents and other facilities of NMEICT project. 


Online Public Access Catalogue (OPAC):

The central library computerized through SOUL SOFTWARE of INFLIBNET center Gandhinagar. OPAC module of software provides facilities of search books by different approach of user. Users search a library catalog principally to locate books and other material available at a library. Users reserve books by this facility. There are four computer cabinet use for OPAC facility in reading room of library.


Circulation Service:

Computerized circulation section in library. 300 to 400 books circulate per day. Books issue to user as per following table:


Reprographic Service

Library has provided reprographic ( photocopy service ) for users

Timing: 9.30 am To 6.00 pm


Internet & e-Library service

Library has provided Internet & e-Library service for different group of users

Rules and Regulations

Working Hours

Working days: 8 A.M. to 8 P.M. 

Sunday and other holiday : 11 A. M. to 2 P. M.

Public Library Service: 8 A.M. to 10.30  A.M.


Other Rules :

1.  Silence shall be strictly observed in the Library

2.  Mobile phone shall be switched off while entering the Library.

3.  Smoking and spitting are strictly prohibited in the Library 

4.  No user of the Library shall write by pen or pencil or any mark or remark or damage any publication of the Library. 

5.  If any publication is lost or disfigured or if any page of picture is removed by the readers, he/she will be required to replace it by a new copy. If readers fail to do so, reader will be required to pay the present cost of the materials and also pay the fine as decided by the

Library Committee. If books is out of print (with publishers proof) than reader will pay double cost of the book with late fees. The decision of the Library Committee shall be final in case of controversy. 

6.  The borrower is required to examine the books at the time of receiving them. The last borrower will be held responsible for any damage. 

7.  The students shall not be allowed in the technical room/ store room and circulation counter of the library.
