Research Policy of the Institute

Preamble:

Life is a facet of unity and diversity and we strongly believe that teaching and learning represents unity and research represents diversity.


Research is one of the major components of Higher Education System after teaching and learning and without research any Higher Education System cannot achieve aims and objectives. Any kind of transformation and improvement in existing scenario depends upon need based and long term research policy. Our policy includes research and innovation problems related to our locality as well as global need. We consider active involvement of our established researcher, faculties, upcoming faculties, research scholars and induction of PG students primarily and UG students secondarily to adrenalise their orientation towards research based concept of Higher Education.


Aim and Objectives:

The aim and objectives of our Research Policy considers –

  • Life threatening global problems viz. environment and climate, alternate source of energy, agriculture science based problems, health problems, sustainable and scientific exploitation of natural resources, natural products based livelihood, biodiversity conservation and genomics for pure Science.
  • For Arts and Humanities, our research policy consider conservation of all historical, political and social heritage and knowledge, tribal culture and life, scientific data based socio-psychological counseling based research, anthropological studies of primitive society of our state.
  • In the field of Literature our research policy consider study and preparation of research based monograph of eminent scholars from our society.
  • For Commerce, Economics and Management based study our research policy consider special commerce and economics based existing practice of our society as well as transformations influenced by national and international factors.


Thus, aim and objectives of our Research Policy banks on active involvement of all Post graduate departments as well as motivational involvement of graduate departments.


Research based Infrastructure:

Our institution is committed for cumulative improvement of existing infrastructure for research as well as sustainable addition of new one. We have primary consideration for –

  1. Improvement of Central Instrumentation Lab,
  2. All Post graduate Research Labs,
  3. Development of Green House,
  4. Development of Animal House,
  5. Development of Botanical Garden,
  6. Development of Mushroom Culture Lab,
  7. Development of Monogenetic disease (Sickle Cell Anemia/Thalassemia/G6PD deficiency etc.) center,
  8. Development of Media and Language Laboratory, 
  9. Development of Business Lab,
  10. Development of Research Database Center and,
  11. Development of Museum.


Research Council:

Under our Research Policy for effective, homogenous regulation and involvement of all stakeholders, we have one Research Council constituting –

  1. Patron – Principal of the College
  2. Convenor – 1
  3. Members – 4 (including one member from arts, science and commerce faculties).

Primary duty of Research Council includes –

  1. Coordination and redressal of problems related to research
  2. Encouragement of faculties to undertake research activities and to apply projects at national and international level.
  3. Dissemination of various opportunities related to research activities among faculties as well as research scholars and students.
  4. Arrangement of seed money support/support for presentation of findings at abroad etc.
  5. Encouragement and help for filing patent.
  6. Encouragement for interdisciplinary research activity.
  7. Encouragement for research based MoU with other institutions / NGO’s at National and International level.
  8. Encouragement and help for organizing Conferences/ Seminars/ Symposia/ Colloquium at Local/ State/ National/ International level.
  9. To organize various scientific programmes at College level.
  10. Transfer of need based scientific knowledge to society.

Seed Money for Research Activities:

Under research promotion programme there is provision to support active researcher by seed money for initiation of any specified problems –

  1. The Research Council invites research projects from faculty members every year.
  2. There is provision to grant one major research project with maximum grants of Rs.5,00,000.00 and two minor research projects of Rs.1,00,000.00 each for every year on competitive evaluation value.
  3. College provides consolation seed money to each department so that PG students may take some problem based research work.
  4. College provides registration fees to faculty for participation and presentation of research findings at abroad.
  5. College also provides full grants for filing patent.
  6. Besides above all we have provision to support for any special research problem with special consideration of Research Council.

Priority Area of Research:

Under Research Policy we have considered following priority areas for research and related activities –

  1. Luminescence based research.
  2. Material Science based research.
  3. Non-conventional source of energy based research.
  4. Aquatic pollution control measure and limnology based research.
  5. Nanoparticle based research.
  6. Cyanobacterial diversity and cyanotoxin based research.
  7. Biodiversity and Aquaculture based study.
  8. Monogenetic disease (Sickle Cell Anemia/ Thalassemia/ G6PD deficiency) based study.
  9. Scientific validation of traditional knowledge based research.
  10. Sustainable exploitation of natural resource based study.
  11. Genomic research of population from our society.
  12. Fish genomics study.
  13. Anthropogenic study related to children, female and tribal health.
  14. Anthropogenic study related to personality, alcoholism, social abuse and witchcraft etc.
  15. Study related to specialized socio economic practice and effect of new alterations on them.
  16. Study related to tribal language, culture and transformation in their socio-economic and political scenario.
  17. Study related to various historical episodes and monuments preferentially from state.
  18. Study related to existing status and impact of new legal alterations on trade and livelihood.
  19. Study related to eminent personalities of Literature, Arts, Culture and Historian of Chhattisgarh.
  20. Environment and Climate change based research.


Innovation Ecosystem:

Institution has created an ecosystem for innovations including incubation center and other initiatives for creation and transfer of knowledge.

Our institution has a ecosystem to encourage innovation, entrepreneurship and incubation to students. Under this ecosystem we have following components –

  • Idea conceptualizing cell
  • Entrepreneurship cell
  • Incubation cell

Idea conceptualizing cell: The cell is responsible to provide free and fair environment among students for generations of idea. The cell organizes a meeting in each semester session of students participants. Interested students present their idea either through power point or by other way before the members of cell with their concept, knowledge and views. The member of cell are primarily responsible for evaluation and it is duty of cell member to verify the concept either at college or industry level. If any idea found suitable the cell transfer the case before Entrepreneurship cell.


Entrepreneurship cell: The member of entrepreneurship cell is responsible for technical and feasibility evaluation of concept. The cell is responsible to transform idea into action with all technicality and if required our college having policy to provide external technical support to aspirants.


Incubation cell: The member of incubation cell are responsible for implementation of concept. College having policy to provide financial support (if required) either from internal resource or from external resource, so far as possible. Once the incubation started the cell provide support for guidance, marketing business strategy and financial management to transform aspirants in to successful entrepreneur.

  3. Pharmaceutically significant active bioingredient containing medicinal plant cultivation.
  4. Development of Chemical essence for commercialization.
  5. Developments of ecofriendly carry bags.
  6. Use of coconut outershell as business unit.
  7. Development of medicinally and nutritionally significant mushroom culture unit.
  8. Fermentation technology based entrepreneurship.
  9. Biodetergent based entrepreneurship.
  10. Biomosquito repellant entrepreneurship.
  11. Biomoisturizer based entrepreneurship.
